Can I reserve a table on your patio?
No. Patio tables are never reserved as it is weather dependent (heat/cold/precipitation). If it is open during service, it is "first-come, first-served" for complete parties only. The largest patio table accommodates seven people snuggly.
Can I reserve a specific table in your restaurant and will I get that table when I arrive for my reservation?
You can REQUEST a table, but there are NO GUARANTEES! We try our best to accomodate all requests, but due to the design and seating capacity of our tables and dining rooms, we need to accomodate all parties as comfortably and efficiently as possible.
How far in advance can I reserve a table in the restaurant?
One month in advance, to the exact date - no exceptions! For example, if you need a reservation for May 25th, then you must call on April 25th. Please call 202-331-8528 for restaurant reservations. We do not take reservations via fax or email.
What is your dress code?
No formal dress code required. Most guests arrive business casual.
What is your policy on using cell phones in your restaurant?
As a courtesy to other patrons, we recommend refraining all cell phone use in all of our dining rooms.
Are dogs allowed on your patio, in the restaurant or main lounge?
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes, on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Wait-times vary and there is never a guarantee we can seat you if you are a "walk-in".
Do you have valet service?
Yes! Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday and Sunday brunches. Price is $10 per vehicle
Do I need a reservation for cocktails and lite fare in your lounge?
No, the lounge and bar are always "first-come, first-served". However, if you have a large group of 20 or less people, we have an area you can reserve with the restaurant manager ahead of time, but a contract and minimum must be completed prior to booking.
Do you have a happy hour?
Can you accommodate food allergies and/or diets? ie) gluten free, vegetarian, vegan...
We have a very limited offering to those with allergies or dietary restrictions. Its best to call the restaurant and ask to speak to a manager.
Is your restaurant quiet?
No, unfortunately due to our historical structure our dining rooms can be loud!
Sort-of! Due to the historic nature of the buildings, the Tabard Inn does not have an elevator or ramp and there are flights of stairs to every restroom. Access to the restaurant can be accommodated through our kitchen, but you must notify the restaurant manager prior to your arrival!
Can I bring in a cake or cupcakes?
Yes, but only if you approve it with the restaurant manager prior to your arrival. There is a plating fee of $2.50 per person.
Can your pastry chef make a specialty cake?
Yes, but we need at least 2 weeks' notice and all orders are placed with our Special Events manager.
