How many rooms do you have?

40 Rooms.

How old are the buildings?

The three buildings were built as private residences between 1880-1900.

How long has the Tabard Inn been a hotel?

It was converted into a hotel in 1922 and has had only two owners since then.

Where can I park?

There is valet parking at the Topaz hotel next door for $38 for 24 hours, or two blocks away for $25.

Are you located near a Metro stop? How do I reach the Tabard from there?

We are two blocks from the Dupont Circle metro stop.
Go out the south exit and, walking in the same direction as the escalator, go a block to N St. Turn Left. Cross Connecticut Ave. We are half a block down the street on the left.

How do I make a hotel reservation?

You can make a reservation by telephone, fax, or via email. We need a credit card number to guarantee the reservation.

What is your cancellation policy?

You must cancel your reservation 48 hours in advance of your arrival date by 11pm that night to avoid a one night charge.

Do you have an Elevator?

Due to the historic nature of the buildings, the Tabard Inn does not have an elevator. There are four floors, three flights of stairs at the most.

Is someone available to help with bags?

There is someone available to help with bags between the hours of 7am to 11pm.

Do you have Air Conditioning?

From April to November in the hotel rooms Central air in Public areas all year.

Do you have WIFI?

Yes, we have free WIFI in all of the rooms

Do you have Hair Dryers?

Hair dryers are available at the front desk.

Do you have Irons/ Ironing Boards?

Irons/ Ironing boards are available at the front desk.

Do you have Televisions?

At this point we do not have TV's available. The digital signal has proved unreliable in our buildings and we are researching alternatives.

Are you affiliated with a Gym?

We have guest passes to the YMCA two blocks away. It is a full facility gym with an indoor swimming pool.

Do you have a Fax? What is the Number?

We have a fax machine at the front desk. The number is 202-785-6173.

What is your check-in time? Check-Out time?

Check in time is 2pm. Check out time is 11am.

Do you have a place to store luggage?

We have two storage rooms for guest luggage.

Is there someone at the desk 24 hours?

Yes.

Do your room rates include breakfast?

Our room rates include a continental breakfast served in our restaurant.
Breakfast hours are Monday-Friday 7AM-10AM, Saturday 8AM-9:45AM, and Sunday 8AM-9:15 AM.

Do you have a restaurant in the hotel?

We do have a restaurant on the premises. We serve 3 meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations for lunch, brunch and dinner are strongly recommended. For restaurant hours and more information, see our restaurant page.

Can I receive mail or a package at the hotel?

Yes. It is best to have the name of the recipient and the date of arrival on the correspondence.

Can I print a boarding pass?

Yes. We have a guest computer with internet and printing capabilities near the front desk. There is a nominal charge for printing.

What toiletries do you provide in the rooms?

We provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the rooms. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors are available at the front desk.

Do you have a shuttle to area airports? What are my transportation options?

We do not offer transportation to and from the airport. Transportation options for the three area airports are as follows:

How far in advance should I make a reservation?

Our busiest times are from March to June and September to November. We advise booking 2-3 months in advance.

What does “shared” bath mean?

Depending on price, you would share two bathrooms in the hallway with two other rooms OR a single bathroom in between two rooms.

Are your rooms non-smoking?

All of our facilities are non-smoking, including our guest rooms, lounges, restaurant, and patio.

Can I purchase a gift Certificate for the Tabard Inn?

Yes. Gift cards redeemable for purchase in the hotel and the restaurant are available online, by telephone, and at the front desk.

Do you offer a standard government rate?

We do not offer a government rate, but many of our rates fall within the standard per diem.

Do you allow pets?

Yes, as long as they are confined when you are not in the room. There is a $25 charge.

Can I reserve a specific room?

No. We only reserve rooms by price category, but we will certainly note any preferences.

What is the size difference between a double bed, queen bed and king bed?

Answer: Double bed : 54” X 76” Queen Bed 60” X 80” King Bed 72” X 80”

Do you have ground floor rooms?

We have one ground floor room.

Will my computer work with your Wifi?

This is dependent on two factors. The first is the type of wireless network card in your PC or MAC. Some PCs have cards with a broader range than others. The second factor is if your computer is utilizing software such as Cisco designed to prevent connections with open networks for security purposes. You may have to troubleshoot this with your computer IT department.
